Look what I am now the proud owner of ...
YAY!! I am so excited!..
(ahem) .. is it really nerdy to be over the moon over a new laptop?
This was me today trying to get a decent photo of the boys at Cooper's Athletics Carnival...
{{sigh}} ... maybe next time! lol
And since I'm here:
hehe... hope you are all having a good week! :))

Feels Like Forever...
since my last post.. and it probably is!! I've just been busy with other things and the puter has been beckoning me every time i walk past! lol But I'm back from my little sabbatical with a vengeance... :))
The massive project that i have been working on is complete and i can't wait to share that little adventure when i can. Can't wait to get some 'just-for-me' scrapping done now..... and just quietly, i think my family is looking forward to getting a little more attention from mum! I just realised a really cool statistic for my blog too. 133 posts and 133 followers!! WOW! I'm so thrilled to have so many like minded lovlies interested enough to share creative journeys with me.
We had another birthday this month too. Claire Bear turned 12 last week and had a sleepover party on Saturday night. Freezing temperatures and she wanted to sleep out in the back yard in the tent and have ice-cream birthday cake!! Ever the obliging mum (cough, cough).... i made sure they had more than enough sleeping bags + blankets + doonas ... and made this little fella:
... the last wedding photo too, i promise! (i think...) ;)
Alright, because it's been soooo long since i did one.... i feel compelled to leave you with a sneak too. HA! :))
Great to be back and I hope to see what you've all been up to soon. Thanks for popping in. :))

the ice-cream echidna
So Saturday night saw me hosting 11 children (only 4 of them were mine... of course Maddi had to invite a friend over for support), 1 husband, a shivering dog freaking out at fireworks, and this flu of mine that just won't quit!! Now at least i can rest in the knowledge that my kitchen can fit all of them in at once... minus the shivering dog.... for a pizza making extravaganza!
A fabulous (and warm) night was had by all... :))
I guess it really is time i shared something then huh?
OK.... the Stuck?! Sketch for mid month is out and here it is:
and here is my somewhat stylised version :))

My Favourite!!
Yep... my favourite colour in a whitewashed palette over at The Colour Room today!! i LOVED doing this one and i hope you will all have a play with it too. I can't wait to see a gloriously orange and white gallery over there!
This is how i played:
This is how i played:
Using some of my favourite things at the moment... Melissa Frances resin frames, my Crafter's Workshop template with texture paste, Imaginarium Design chipboard butterflies and title.... and ORANGE! :)))
Here is the palette:
I am missing my blog and my blogging fraternity terribly atm... :(( won't be long and the madness will be over and i will back in the 'driver's seat' and blogging away like a demon again! I can't wait to share my new mad obsession with you! ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by... i'm off to get rugged up - it is absolutely freezing here right now. 4:00 in the afternoon and it's colder than it was at 7:00 this morning!! brrr..

Boxx News!
Yep... it's the Boxx newsletter time again and it's full of lots of goodies! Pop over and check out the new Boxx of Scraps Kit and the Book of You.... sensational!
I was up for the DT challenge this month, which was to scrap a layout using the title theme "I am". Considering i pulled out those wedding photos, scanned and printed a tonne of them, it seemed the perfect opportunity to do this one:
... and, i asked another DT member, the fabulously talented Leanne Jago, to put up the sketch challenge this month... just to get another perspective. This is Leanne's sketch:
and her layout:
...and I even had an upside down go at this one myself too :)...
sorry.... more wedding photos!!:
I loved having a go at this sketch. It really forced me out of my comfort zone to get inventive and work on my design and not fall into the same design rut. Thanks LJ... head on over and upload your layout to the sketch challenge thread this month!
Oh... and if i haven't visited in a couple of weeks.... i's soooo sorry!! It's not because i haven't been trying! These blogger problems seem to still be persisting with me. I can't leave any comments on blogs that have their comments embedded at the end of the post... only those with 'full page' or 'pop up' options selected as a comment setting. Is any one else noticing that particular distinction, or is it only me!?
On the family front.. the flu totally knocked us all over this last week, but we seem to be on the mend now. Lachy's chest seems better and he is off his antibiotics now, so hopefully his 'digestive issues' will settle down too (uuuughh!). We are all still coughing and sniffing (but of course 'Troy's Man Flu' is far worse than anybody's... men!! hehehe), but the aches and pains seem to have dissappeared, thankfully. Still can't hear or taste anything though... hate that!
Hope this flu season hasn't cught up with you, although it appears that half the planet is suffering at the moment...
hugs and thanks for stopping by,

Time to Catch my Breath
... but only briefly!! :)
The Stuck?! Sketch is up today, so if you are in need of a little push (and even if you're not), why not head over for a little look see... :)))
I had a bit of fun with texture paste this month... in fact you'll see a little bit more texture paste from me throughout the month. It's so fun!! And, for the first time in almost 13 years, I scrapped a wedding photo!! I don't know why it has taken me this long. I think it's because I always envisaged scrapping a big wedding album and it just seemed like such a huge job, so it was always on the back burner. Well, once I started, I just couldn't stop!! lol. Sorry in advance for the flood of wedding photos you will see this month! :)
We were also lucky enough to have a sketch put together by the amazing talent Louise Nelson... so come on over and check it out. Here is what i put together:
and Lou's sketch:
Can you believe I resisted the urge to shove everything into a corner or the edge of the page and actually scrapped in the middle of the layout?!! hehe
Of course it's KIU's turn for a new challenge too. The June challenge is asking you to use 3 or more photos in a sequence of events and to use journaling to explain the story.... on kraft. I had been wanting to use these photos of Cooper playing with his new bubble maker on Christmas Day last year. It makes enormous bubbles and he played with it for hours. This was just the perfect brief for these shots:
I hope Blogger is going to behave itself soon... i have been trying to leave a bit of love here and there, with limited success. This month I will be busy working away on a really huge and exciting project.... excited, thrilled and terrified all at the same time!! hehe ... can't wait to share some of the details with you next month.
It's pretty cool in these parts atm and the virus that Lachy picked up has subsequently flattened the entire family!! Yep, all six of us are miserable with temps, headaches, snotty noses and a horrible cough. The kitchen bench is starting to resemble a pharmacy shelf and, a visit to the Dr with Lachy yesterday, saw me adding to the stash with ventolin and antibiotics, as his has now developed into bronchitus {sigh} So, to top it all off just nicely, there is no sleep happening either!
Hugs to you lovely ladies and hope you are all well,
jules
